Regular Season Round 1: Niigata - Yamanashi QB 68-48

No shocking result in a game when Niigata (2-0) crushed Yamanashi QB (0-2) in Tokyo 68-48 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Niigata. Yamanashi QB managed to win fourth quarter 12-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Yamanashi QB to just 7 points in third quarter. Niigata dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Yamanashi QB's 22. They outrebounded Yamanashi QB 42-27 including 18 on the offensive glass. Forward Miya Maki (172-90) nailed 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and guard Seiko Kawakami (165-88) accounted for 13 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Guard Saori Kanehara (164-87) came up with 14 points and 8 rebounds and guard Kasumi Yagi (165-92) added 6 points and 7 assists respectively for Yamanashi QB in the defeat. Yamanashi QB's coach tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Niigata will again meet at home Yamanashi QB (#12) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Yamanashi QB will have a break next round.
