The game in Turku was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Peli-Karhut (6-1) played at the court of 7th ranked TuRi (2-5). Peli-Karhut did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 100-83. TuRi was ahead by 9 points at the halftime before a 66-40 second half run of Peli-Karhut. They also forced 22 TuRi turnovers and outrebounded them 46-31 including 21 on the offensive glass. TuRi was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Krystal Vaughn (185-86, college: VCU, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import guard Andrea Barbour (178-89, college: VCU, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American guard La'Keisha Sutton (175-90, college: S.Carolina) replied with 19 points and 5 rebounds and forward Camilla Gronberg (179-94) added 14 points in the effort for TuRi. Four Peli-Karhut and five TuRi players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Peli-Karhut have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 6-1 record behind leader Catz. TuRi lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. They share the position with Kerava. Peli-Karhut will play against Kerava Energia Team (#6) at home in the next round. TuRi will play against Forssan Alku and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
