Regular Season Round 5: Trefl Sopot - Stabill Jezioro 87-59

Bottom-ranked Stabill Jezioro is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their fifth consecutive match to seventh ranked Trefl Sopot (3-1) 87-59. The game without a history. Trefl Sopot led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Stabill Jezioro's 36. Trefl Sopot had a 33-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international Pawel Leonczyk (202-86) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. American center Bertengeh Gadri-Nicholson (208-83, college: Denver) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (203-90, college: Oklahoma) produced 17 points and point guard Marcin Nowakowski (186-89) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Trefl Sopot have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with PGE Turow. Stabill Jezioro at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Trefl Sopot's next round opponent will be Polpharma (#11) in Starogard and are hoping to win another game. Stabill Jezioro will play at home against AZS Koszalin and hopes to get finally their first victory.
