Regular Season Round 12: Gunma - Toyama Grouses 63-82

Very expected game when 11th ranked Gunma (1-9) was rolled over at home by second ranked Toyama Grouses (9-1) 82-63 on Sunday. The game without a history. Toyama Grouses led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Toyama Grouses outrebounded Gunma 43-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Joho Masashi (183-82) chipped in 18 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian power forward Darko Cohadarevic (206-86, college: Texas Tech, agency: FCM) who recorded 19 points and American power forward Trey Britton (202-89, college: Anderson, SC) added 10 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toyama Grouses maintains second position with 9-1 record having just -1 point less than leader Akita NH. Gunma lost ninth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with nine games lost. Toyama Grouses will face Aomori Watts (#6) in the next round. Gunma will play against Yokohama BC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
