Regular Season Round 14: Kumamoto V. - Mitsubishi DD 87-107

The game between Top Four teams took place in Kumamoto. 4th ranked host Kumamoto V. (3-11) was smashed by third ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (9-5) 107-87The game was mostly controlled by Mitsubishi Dolphins. Kumamoto V. managed to win third quarter 27-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Senegalese-French forward Amath M'Baye (206-89, college: Oklahoma) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Power forward Jun Uzawa (197-81) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Lamont Jones (183, college: Iona) produced 38 points (!!!), 7 assists and 4 steals and his fellow American import forward DeVaughn Washington (202-89, college: Ohio, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 18 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Mitsubishi Dolphins and four Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mitsubishi Dolphins moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Kumamoto V. dropped to the fifth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Tsukuba R.. Mitsubishi Dolphins will meet Tsukuba R. (#6) on the road in the next round. Kumamoto V. will play against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya and hope to secure a win.
