Regular Season Round 14: Aishin SH - Wakayama T. 91-88

Second-ranked Wakayama T. (8-4) gave a tough game to top-ranked Aishin Sea Horses (14-0) in Kariya on Sunday. Aishin Sea Horses managed to secure only three-point victory 91-88. However their fans expected easier game. The former international center J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) scored 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) chipped in 21 points during the contest. American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks and the former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) scored 23 points and 7 assists. Five Aishin Sea Horses and four Wakayama T. players scored in double figures. Aishin Sea Horses have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-0 record. Newly promoted Wakayama T. dropped to the third place with four games lost. Aishin Sea Horses are looking forward to face Kumamoto V. (#5) at home in the next round. Wakayama T. will play against Hyogo S. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
