There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Casalpusterlengo (4-3) defeated at home 4th placed Chieti (4-3) 74-62. The game was mostly controlled by Casalpusterlengo. Chieti was better in third quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for power forward Alberto Chiumenti (204-87, agency: Players Group) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 rebounds. Cuban Howard Sant-Roos (200-91) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Casalpusterlengo players scored in double figures. Center Mattia Soloperto (208-80) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Matt Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV, agency: Two Points) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Chieti. Casalpusterlengo moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Chieti. Casalpusterlengo's next round opponent will be Lucca (#4) on the road. Chieti will play against Bari and hope to win that game.
