Regular Season Round 6: Hapoel Holon - Netanya 66-65

Date: November 10, 2013
Important game to mention about took place in Holon. Sixth ranked Hapoel Holon (3-2) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 8th ranked GreenTops Netanya (2-3) 66-65 on Sunday evening. It looked good early as GreenTops Netanya took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hapoel Holon had a 17-12 second period charge getting the lead and GreenTops Netanya was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-66. Hapoel Holon forced 21 GreenTops Netanya turnovers. GreenTops Netanya was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American Brian Asbury (200-86, college: Miami, FL) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import forward Laurence Bowers (203, college: Missouri) supported him with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Hapoel Holon's coach Lior Lubin allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 19 points and 7 rebounds by guard Yehu Orland (193-81) did not help to save the game for GreenTops Netanya. American power forward Rashaun Freeman (206-84, college: Massachusetts) added 17 points and 7 rebounds. Hapoel Holon moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Maccabi T-A. GreenTops Netanya at the other side keeps the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with Galil Gilboa and Hapoel T-A. Hapoel Holon will play against league's second-placed Maccabi Haifa on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. GreenTops Netanya will play against the league's leader Ironi Nes-Ziona (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
