Regular Season Round 12: Oita H.Devils - Shiga L-Stars 97-93

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Shiga L-Stars (6-4) against seventh ranked Oita Heat Devils (5-5) on Sunday night. Visiting Shiga L-Stars were defeated by Oita Heat Devils in a tough game in Oita 93-97. Oita Heat Devils players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a good game for American guard Verdell Jones III (195-89, college: Indiana) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. The other American import swingman Gabriel McCulley (200-89, college: UTEP) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Junpei Nakama (193-83) replied with 14 points and 7 assists and American guard Brandon Fields (193-88, college: Nevada) added 14 points and 6 assists in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. Four Oita Heat Devils and five Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. Oita Heat Devils moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Yokohama BC and Fukuoka Rizing. Shiga L-Stars at the other side keep the third position with four games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Oita Heat Devils will play against Fukuoka Rizing (#6) on the road in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will play against Niigata Albirex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
