Regular Season Round 7: Nice - Mondeville 66-57

There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Nice (2-5) beat at home 8th ranked Mondeville (2-5) 66-57. It looked good early as Mondeville took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Nice had a 21-18 second period charge getting the lead and Mondeville was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 57-66. International point guard Kristen Sharp (175-81, college: Cincinnati) fired 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Spanish forward Anna Montanana (186-80, college: G.Washington) chipped in 10 points. American forward Courtney Hurt (185-90, college: VCU) produced 22 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Sandra Dijon (192-79) added 4 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Mondeville's coach Romain Lhermitte rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Nice moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Mondeville and Tarbes. Mondeville lost their third game in a row. Nice's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Union Hainaut (#14) in Saint-Amand which should be theoretically an easy game.
