Regular Season Round 14: Malbas - Fryshuset 75-54

Basketettan top team - Malbas (7-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Fryshuset (2-5) in Malmo 75-54. The game was mostly controlled by Malbas. Fryshuset was better in fourth quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Malbas dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Fryshuset's 28. They outrebounded Fryshuset 46-26 including a 36-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Australian guard John Fitzgerald (193-84, college: Lindsey Wilson) scored 21 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Alexander Nilsson (209-90) chipped in 11 points and 18 rebounds during the contest. Four Malbas players scored in double figures. Malbas' coach Henrik Svensson felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Ugandan guard Kassim Nagwere (187-90) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and forward Andre Benediktsson (196-95) scored 16 points. Malbas have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-0 record. Fryshuset at the other side keeps the ninth place with five games lost. Malbas will play against Trelleborg (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Fryshuset will have a break next round.
