Regular Season Round 3: Maccabi R.Hen - H.R. Le-Zion 85-61

There was no surprise when Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (0-3) was crushed on the road by Maccabi Ramat Hen (2-1) 85-61 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi Ramat Hen. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion managed to win fourth quarter 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion 41-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. Maccabi Ramat Hen looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion's players. It was a great evening for American Ashley Shields (180-85, college: SW Tenn.St.CC) who led her team to a victory scoring 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Her fellow American import swingman Karima Christmas (182-89, college: Duke) helped adding 11 points and 21 rebounds. Four Maccabi Ramat Hen players scored in double figures. Coach Shiki Falah's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was British-Nigerian power forward Toluwani Omotola (190-91, college: Liberty) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Sugar Rodgers (180-89, college: Georgetown) scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Maccabi Ramat Hen will meet Hap.Petah Tikva (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion will play against Elitzur Holon and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
