Regular Season Round 6: Rubon - Sozh Gomel 65-88

The game in Vitebsk supposed to be also quite interesting. Top-ranked Sozh Gomel (6-0) played at the court of 5th ranked Rubon (2-4). Sozh Gomel smashed Rubon 88-65 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Sozh Gomel led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Sozh Gomel forced 19 Rubon turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was international guard Kiril Sitnik (190-89) who scored 23 points and 6 rebounds. Ukrainian forward Sergei Dadukin (198-83) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Viktor Ovsepian (204-91) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and forward Aliaksandr Dziarzhautsau (202-91) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rubon's coach Ruslan Baidakov gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Sozh Gomel have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Grodno-93. Loser Rubon keeps the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Prinemanye. Sozh Gomel will meet at home league's leader Grodno-93 in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rubon will play against Prinemanye (#5) in Grodno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
