Regular Season Round 4: Al Jaysh - Al Rayyan 62-65

The most exciting game of round 4 in the D1 took place in Doha. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 3rd ranked Al Jaysh (5-4) to top-ranked Al Rayyan (9-0) 65-62 on Wednesday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian center Jurica Zuza (207-78, agency: Alti Sport) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and the former international forward Tanguy Ngombo (197-84) who added 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Al Rayyan players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Anthony Roberson (189-83, college: Florida) responded with 12 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Shawn Taggart (207-85, college: Memphis) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Al Rayyan have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 9-0 record. Al Jaysh at the other side dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Al Khor. Al Rayyan are looking forward to face Al Khor (#5) on the road in the next round. Al Jaysh's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Ahli.
