Regular Season Round 6: KR - Njardvik 96-72

The game between Top Four teams took place in Reykjavik. Top-ranked host KR (5-0) smashed one of their biggest challengers Njardvik (4-2) 96-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Njardvik. The game was mostly controlled by KR. Njardvik managed to win fourth quarter 27-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Njardvik's 30. KR forced 26 Njardvik turnovers. The former international guard Pavel Ermolinskij (202-87) had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international Martin Hermannsson (192-94) chipped in 24 points during the contest. Five KR players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was international point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94) with 28 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and American swingman Nigel Moore (195-81, college: Alabama A&M) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KR have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 5-0 record behind leader Keflavik. Njardvik at the other side keeps the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Haukar and Grindavik. KR are looking forward to face league's leader Keflavik on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Njardvik will play against Haukar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
