The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (4-2) in Nes Ziyona on Thursday night. Hosts were edged by eighth ranked Galil Gilboa (3-3) 55-54. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Ironi Nes-Ziona. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 13-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Rick Jackson (206-89, college: Syracuse) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import forward DeShawn Sims (203-88, college: Michigan) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Galil Gilboa players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international point guard Meir Tapiro (192-75, agency: Avi Zilberman) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Mitchell Watt (208-89, college: Buffalo) scored 7 points and 9 rebounds. Galil Gilboa moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Hapoel J-M and Bnei Hertzeliyya. Newly promoted Ironi Nes-Ziona dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with Maccabi T-A and Hapoel Eilat. Galil Gilboa is looking forward to face higher ranked Maccabi T-A (#4) in Tel-Aviv in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play on the road against Hapoel Tel-Aviv and is hoping to win this game.
