Regular Season Round 15: Lechugueros - Gansos 113-79
Date: November 14, 2013
Bottom-ranked Gansos (0-14) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 113-79 loss to seventh ranked Lechugueros (7-8) in Leon on Thursday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Lechugueros. Gansos managed to win fourth quarter 26-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lechugueros shot 60.6 percent from the field. Lechugueros outrebounded Gansos 43-32 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 55.9 percentage. Lechugueros looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 23 passes made by Gansos' players. It was a great evening for the former international guard Andre Joseph Tyronzic (191-81, college: Oregon) who led his team to a victory scoring 45 points (!!!) and 4 assists. Bahamas power forward Ryan Moss (200-74, college: UALR) helped adding 18 points and 21 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was American CamRon Clay (203-82) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds and international forward Alejandro Zarco (205-85) scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gansos' coach already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Lechugueros have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 7-8 record. Loser Gansos still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Lechugueros will meet at home Angeles (#11) in the next round. Gansos will play against Panteras in Aguascalientes and hope to get finally their first victory.
