Date: November 15, 2013
The game in Tsukuba supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (11-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Tsukuba R. (3-13). Mitsubishi Dolphins smashed Tsukuba R. 87-66 on Friday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-66. Mitsubishi Dolphins outrebounded Tsukuba R. 35-21 including a 29-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mitsubishi Dolphins made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for Senegalese-French forward Amath M'Baye (206-89, college: Oklahoma) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. The former international forward Shogo Asayama (192-81) helped adding 14 points. Four Mitsubishi Dolphins players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Lamar Sanders (198-84, college: Lamar) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and guard Satoshi Kawai (182-82) scored 18 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Mitsubishi Dolphins. They maintain second place with 11-5 record having just one points less than leader Aishin SH. Tsukuba R. lost their ninth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
