Regular Season Round 7: Trefl II Sopot - Kalisz 61-92

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Kalisz (5-2) smashed on the road 9th ranked Trefl II Sopot (2-4) 92-61 on Saturday. Kalisz forced 25 Trefl II Sopot turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Kalisz especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Swingman Artur Mrowczynski (194-84) fired 21 points for the winners. Guard Lukasz Wojciechowski (184-88) chipped in 17 points. Four Kalisz players scored in double figures. point guard Artur Wlodarczyk (181-96) produced 16 points and 5 steals and forward Michal Kolenda (197-97) added 10 points respectively for lost side. Trefl II Sopot's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Kalisz. Newly promoted Kalisz maintains third place in Group A with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Nowa Sol, which they share with Notec. Loser Trefl II Sopot dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Kalisz will face Polonia W-wa (#8) in Warszawa in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Trefl II Sopot will play on the road against Suchy Las and hope to win that game.
