Regular Season Round 13: Yokohama BC - Gunma 75-70

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Yokohama BC (6-5) defeated at home 11th ranked Gunma (1-10) 75-70 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 26-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Yokohama BC made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American power forward Marquise Gray (206-86, college: Michigan St.) fired 27 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds. Four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Canadian forward Marvell Waithe (205-87, college: Arkansas) produced 25 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Masashi Obuchi (182-83) added 11 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Yokohama BC moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Gunma lost their tenth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. Yokohama BC will face again Gunma (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
