Fifth ranked Maccabi T-A (4-2) crushed at home 11th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (1-5) by 27 points 93-66, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. The game without a history. Maccabi T-A led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Maccabi Ashdod's players. Naturalized American swingman Sylven Landesberg (198-90, college: Virginia) fired 19 points for the winners. American center Shawn James (208-83, college: Northeastern) chipped in 7 points and 11 rebounds. American Marcus Dove (206-85, college: Oklahoma St.) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Ryan Pearson (198-90, college: George Mason) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Maccabi T-A have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Hapoel Eilat and Ironi Nes-Ziona. Maccabi Ashdod lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with five games lost. They share it with Maccabi Rishon. Maccabi T-A will meet Galil Gilboa (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Bnei Hasharon (#6) and hope to win that game.
