Regular Season Round 15: Toshiba BT - Chiba Jets 75-68

NBL top team - Toshiba Thunders (13-2) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat fifth ranked Chiba Jets (4-11) in Kanagawa 75-68. Chiba Jets trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 20-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 68-75 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Chiba Jets 42-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Yasuhiro Yamashita (187-86) chipped in 6 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) who recorded 18 points and 6 rebounds and guard Yuta Miyanga (183-81) added 16 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toshiba Thunders have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-2 record. Chiba Jets lost eleventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the fifth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Hitachi SR. Toshiba Thunders will again meet at home Chiba Jets (#5) in the next round. Chiba Jets will have a break next round.
