Very predictable result when third ranked Real Celta Vigo (3-1) defeated on the road 10th ranked Oviedo (1-3) 63-57 on Saturday. Oviedo trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 18-11 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 57-63 at the end of the game. Real Celta Vigo dominated on the defensive end, holding Oviedo to just 7 points in third quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Cristina Loureiro (183-94) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and forward Maria Perez Araujo (184-97) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Real Celta Vigo players scored in double figures. Real Celta Vigo's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Sara Fernandez Alvarez (180-87) responded with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Cameroonian forward Florence Avebe (185-88, college: Massachusetts) scored 6 points and 11 rebounds. Real Celta Vigo moved-up to second place in Group A, which they share with 3 other teams. Oviedo lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Real Celta Vigo will face Cortegada (#8) in Vilagarcia Arousa in the next round where they are favorite. Oviedo will play on the road against Aros Leon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
