Regular Season Round 4: Dist.Olimpico - IF Air Europa 65-70

No shocking result in a game in Madrid where ninth ranked IF Air Europa (2-2) won against bottom-ranked Dist.Olimpico (0-4) 70-65 on Saturday. Dist.Olimpico was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 19-9 charge of IF Air Europa, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Dist.Olimpico to just 5 points in first quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Ashley Bruner (183, college: S.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 19 rebounds and guard Maria Espana (175-92) who added 23 points during the contest. At the losing side Maria Villar responded with 18 points and 7 steals and center Daira Varas (193-89) scored 9 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. IF Air Europa moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with Estudiantes. Dist.Olimpico at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with four games lost. IF Air Europa will face Araski AES (#11) in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the next round where they are favorite. Dist.Olimpico will play on the road against the league's leader Alcobendas and hopes to get finally their first victory.
