Regular Season Round 15: Aishin SH - Kumamoto V. 99-85

NBL top team - Aishin Sea Horses (15-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fifth ranked Kumamoto V. (3-12) in Kariya 99-85. They outrebounded Kumamoto V. 38-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). The former international center J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. American guard Lamont Jones (183, college: Iona) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and the other American import forward DeVaughn Washington (202-89, college: Ohio, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 25 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Kumamoto V.Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifteenth consecutive win for Aishin Sea Horses. They maintain first place with 15-0 record. Newly promoted Kumamoto V. keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses' next round opponent will be again Kumamoto V. (#5) at home.
