Regular Season Round 6: Kolossos - Trikalla 76-72

There was a surprise result in Rodou where fourteenth ranked Kolossos (1-5) won against bottom-ranked Aiolos Trikallon (1-5) 76-72 on Saturday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-12. But Aiolos Trikallon won second period 25-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kolossos made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Aiolos Trikallon was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Angelos Tsamis (192-81) who scored 17 points and 4 assists. American center Bambale Osby (203-86, college: Maryland) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Osby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kolossos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Jeremy Granger (185-90, college: E.Illinois) who recorded 17 points and his fellow American import forward Chris Evans (203-91, college: Kent St.) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Aiolos Trikallon's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Kolossos left bottom position moving up to twelfth place, which they share with Trikalla and Nea Kifisia. Kolossos will face higher ranked KAOD (#9) in Dramas in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Aiolos Trikallon will play at home against PAOK (#3) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
