The game in Quimper was also worth to mention about. Third ranked JA Vichy (7-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Quimper UJAP (5-4). JA Vichy defeated Quimper UJAP 63-53. It looked good early as Quimper UJAP took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then JA Vichy took control winning two of next three quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 10 points. It was a good game for point guard Rida El Amrani (180-86) who led his team to a victory with 13 points. Liberian-American Pele Paelay (193-84, college: Co.Carolina, agency: Two Points) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Paelay is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four JA Vichy players scored in double figures. Forward Fabien Herard (198-79) answered with 12 points and 9 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and guard Gary Staelens (189-84) added 9 points and 7 assists in the effort for Quimper UJAP. JA Vichy have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with St Chamond. Quimper UJAP lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. JA Vichy's next round opponent will be La Rochelle (#6) at home. Quimper UJAP will play against JSA Bordeaux and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
