Regular Season Round 16: Panteras - Gansos 106-92

Bottom-ranked Gansos is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 15th consecutive match to sixth ranked Panteras (8-7) 106-92. It looked good early as Gansos took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Panteras had a 28-17 second period charge getting the lead and Gansos were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 92-106. Panteras forced 23 Gansos turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American forward Ramiro Loera Almanza (196-81, college: Cameron) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 4 steals and Panamanian power forward Antonio Garcia (203-76, college: Ky Wesleyan) who added 10 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Panteras' coach Juan Cardona allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American CamRon Clay (203-82) responded with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and international Oscar Perez (205-85) scored 26 points and 5 rebounds. Five Panteras and four Gansos players scored in double figures. Panteras moved-up to fifth place. Gansos at the other side still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Panteras will play against Lechugueros (#9) in Leon in the next round. Gansos will play at home against Fuerza Regia (#8) and hope to get finally their first victory.
