Regular Season Round 13: Fukuoka Rizing - Oita H.Devils 66-76

Another exciting game was between seventh ranked Oita Heat Devils and 6th ranked Fukuoka Rizing where Oita Heat Devils (6-5) beat Fukuoka Rizing (5-6) on the road 76-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fukuoka Rizing. The game was mostly controlled by Oita Heat Devils. Fukuoka Rizing was better in third quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Fukuoka Rizing 46-29 including a 38-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Gabriel McCulley (200-89, college: UTEP) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Taishiro Shimizu (183-81) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Oita Heat Devils players scored in double figures. American swingman Michael Dale (197-84, college: S.Illinois, agency: Blacktop Management) answered with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Fukuoka Rizing. Fukuoka Rizing's coach Mack Tuck rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Oita Heat Devils have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Fukuoka Rizing at the other side dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Oita Heat Devils will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fukuoka Rizing will play again at home against Oita Heat Devils (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
