Regular Season Round 10: Basket ROW - MKS Konin 82-53

Date: November 17, 2013
Bottom-ranked MKS Konin (0-10) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 82-53 loss to sixth ranked Basket ROW (6-4) in Rybnik on Sunday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Basket ROW. MKS Konin managed to win second period 28-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding MKS Konin to just 6 points in first quarter. Basket ROW forced 29 MKS Konin turnovers. American guard Rebecca Harris (176-86, college: Illinois) scored 16 points and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian center Jelena Velinovic (193-81, agency: Promotex) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Basket ROW players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Chandra Harris (186-89, college: Georgia St.) responded with 11 points and 8 rebounds and Katarzyna Motyl (173-87, agency: Promotex) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Basket ROW moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Artego Bydg. and Wilki Morskie. Newly promoted MKS Konin still closes the standings with ten games lost. Basket ROW will meet Wilki Morskie (#5) in the next round. MKS Konin will play against Energa Torun (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
