Rather predictable result when third ranked Lucca (5-1) defeated at home 7th ranked Cagliari CUS (2-4) 88-73 on Sunday. The game without a history. Lucca led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 20 Cagliari CUS turnovers and outrebounded them 40-27 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Megan Mahoney (183-83, college: Kansas St., agency: LBM Management) who scored 31 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Dutch power forward Naomi Halman (191-86, college: Cal-Irvine) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Adrienne Johnson (182-89, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: LBM Management) who recorded 19 points and 8 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Jennifer Hailey (190-90, college: Charlotte) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lucca moved-up to second place, which they share with Familia Schio. Cagliari CUS at the other side dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Lucca will meet at home league's leader Ragusa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
