Regular Season Round 5: Al Sadd - Al Wakrah 83-58
Date: November 17, 2013
There was no surprise in Doha where 7th ranked Al Wakrah (4-5) was crushed by second ranked Al Sadd (7-2) 83-58 on Sunday. American-Sierra Leonean guard Abdulai Jalloh (188-86, college: JMU) stepped up and scored 29 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and international Erfan Ali Saeed (198-83) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Al Sadd players scored in double figures. American forward Dalron Johnson (206-81, college: UNLV) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 17 rebounds and Rwandan-American guard Kenny Wilson (193-84, college: Boise St.) scored 22 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al Sadd maintains second place with 7-2 record having just two points less than leader Al Rayyan. Al Wakrah at the other side keeps the seventh position with five games lost. Al Sadd's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Gharafa.
