Regular Season Round 4: Zhejiang CB - Guangsha L. 96-92

Very expected game in Hangzhou where 13th ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (1-3) were defeated by top-ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (4-0) 96-92 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 35-25 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 92-96 at the end of the game. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank made 7 blocks. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Ivan Johnson (203-84, college: CS San Bernar.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import guard Jerel McNeal (191-87, college: Marquette) who added 24 points and 6 steals during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St., agency: Three Eye Sports) responded with 39 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and forward Henan Sun (195-90) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Guangdong ST. Loser Zhejiang Guangsha Lions dropped to the fourteenth place with three games lost. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank will face DongGuan Leopards (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will play against TianJin Steel and hope to win that game.
