There was a surprise result in Kalitheas where eleventh ranked Ikaros (2-4) beat higher ranked KAOD (3-3) 89-73 on Sunday. The game without a history. Ikaros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by KAOD's players. The best player for the winners was U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican forward Ivan Aska (200-90, college: Murray St.) who scored 27 points and 6 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Guard Yannis Gagaloudis (192-78) chipped in 16 points and 7 assists. Five Ikaros players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian power forward Nikola Markovic (208-89) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and American point guard Lazeric Jones (182-90, college: UCLA) added 19 points respectively. KAOD's coach Nenad Markovic rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Ikaros moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Ilysiakos. Loser KAOD dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Ikaros will face Nea Kifisia (#13) in Athens in the next round. KAOD will play at home against Kolossos (#12) and hope to win that game.
