The game in Jerusalem was also quite interesting. 7th ranked Galil Gilboa (3-4) played at the court of eighth ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (4-3). Hapoel Jerusalem managed to secure a 7-point victory 81-74 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Galil Gilboa. Galil Gilboa was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 20-12 charge of Hapoel Jerusalem, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Galil Gilboa's 36. They outrebounded Galil Gilboa 36-18 including a 24-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hapoel Jerusalem looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American Josh Duncan (203-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). His fellow American import point guard Derwin Kitchen (193-86, college: Florida St.) helped adding 7 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Four Hapoel Jerusalem players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward DeShawn Sims (203-88, college: Michigan) responded with 21 points and point guard Nimrod Tishman (197-91, agency: Avi Zilberman) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Hapoel Jerusalem moved-up to third place, which they share with Maccabi T-A and Ironi Nes-Ziona. Loser Galil Gilboa dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Hapoel Jerusalem will face Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#7) on the road in the next round. Galil Gilboa will play against GreenTops Netanya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
