Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Parma (3-3) was defeated on the road by second ranked Familia Schio (5-1) 68-61 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 18-11. But Parma won second period 21-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was French center Elodie Godin (191-85) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. The former international forward Laura Macchi (188-79) chipped in 20 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Victoria Macaulay (193-90, college: Temple, agency: LBM Management) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and New Zealand-American forward Jillian Harmon (185-87, college: Stanford, agency: Players Group) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Defending champion maintains second position with 5-1 record behind leader Ragusa, which they share with Lucca. Loser Parma keeps the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with Venezia. Familia Schio will meet Umbertide (#4) on the road in the next round. Parma will play against Venezia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
