Regular Season Round 6: La Spezia - Umbertide 67-83

The most shocking disappointment of round 6 was a home defeat of 4th ranked La Spezia (3-2) by fifth ranked Umbertide (4-1) who outscored them by 16 points 83-67 in the game for the fourth place. The game was mostly controlled by Umbertide. La Spezia managed to win third quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded La Spezia 41-29 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by La Spezia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American center Chante Black (195-85, college: Duke) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import point guard Ashleigh Fontenette (172-89, college: Texas, agency: Two Points) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Silvia Favento (185-85) with 17 points and American center Marie Malone (191-89, college: Hofstra, agency: Two Points) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Umbertide and five La Spezia players scored in double figures. La Spezia's coach Loris Barbiero rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Umbertide have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted La Spezia dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Umbertide are looking forward to face league's second-placed Familia Schio at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. La Spezia will play against Orvieto and is hoping to win this game.
