Regular Season Round 6: Chieti - Priolo 67-75

Priolo has finally registered their first victory this season after three consecutive loses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Chieti, where they defeated C.U.S. Chieti (0-6) 75-67. The guests were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 24-14 run, which allowed them to win the game. The former international guard Valentina Donvito (170-78) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and Serbian guard Marija Eric (164-83) supported her with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Even 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by Argentinian point guard Debora Gonzalez (170-90, agency: Players Group) did not help to save the game for C.U.S. Chieti. Argentinian swingman Macarena Rosset (178-91) added 17 points. Five Priolo and four C.U.S. Chieti players scored in double figures. Priolo (1-3) left bottom position moving up to ninth place. It was C.U.S. Chieti's sixth loss in a row. They still closes the standings with six games lost. Priolo will play against higher ranked Cagliari CUS (#8) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. C.U.S. Chieti will play against San Martino (#11) in San Martino di L and hopes to get finally their first victory.
