Regular Season Round 6: Stabill Jezioro - AZS Koszalin 95-78

Stabill Jezioro has finally registered their first victory this season after five consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat AZS Koszalin (1-5) 95-78 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Stabill Jezioro. AZS Koszalin managed to win second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Stabill Jezioro dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to AZS Koszalin's 30. They outrebounded AZS Koszalin 43-25 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Stabill Jezioro looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Marcin Nowakowski (186-89) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Chaisson Allen (192-89, college: Northeastern) chipped in 22 points during the contest. Four Stabill Jezioro players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska) with 20 points and his fellow American import power forward Raymond Sykes (206-86, college: Clemson, agency: Three Eye Sports) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Stabill Jezioro left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with Polpharma and AZS Koszalin. Stabill Jezioro is looking forward to face higher ranked Anwil (#6) in Wloclawek in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. AZS Koszalin will play at home against Polpharma (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
