Regular Season Round 6: Al Gharafa - Al Sadd 65-68

D1 round 6 most important game was a victory of Al Sadd over 5th ranked Al Gharafa 68-65 on Tuesday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al Gharafa. They outrebounded Al Gharafa 43-32 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for international swingman Khalid Suliman (198-87) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Daoud Mousa (193-82) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American guard Larry Blair (183-84, college: Liberty, agency: Norton Sports Management) replied with 21 points and 6 assists and Nigerian forward Manny Adako (203-87, college: Northeastern, agency: Court Side) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Al Gharafa. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Sadd maintains second position with 7-2 record having just two points less than leader Al Rayyan. Al Gharafa at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Al Arabi. Al Sadd's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha Al Arabi.
