Very important is a road loss of second ranked Hapoel Afula (4-2) against eighth ranked Elitzur Ramla (3-3) on Tuesday night. Visiting Hapoel Afula was defeated by Elitzur Ramla in Ramla 86-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hapoel Afula. Hapoel Afula was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 47-29 second half run of Elitzur Ramla. They outrebounded Hapoel Afula 48-36 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Elitzur Ramla brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American guard Roburt Sallie (196-86, college: Memphis, agency: Blacktop Management) notched 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and the former international swingman Or Eytan (198-81, agency: Avi Zilberman) supported him with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Elitzur Ramla players scored in double figures. Even 10 points and 8 rebounds by forward Eitan Rotemberg (197-91) did not help to save the game for Hapoel Afula. point guard Kuik Lior (180-94) added 13 points and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Elitzur Ramla moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 5 other teams.
