Regular Season Round 13: Rieker KN - Inter Bratislava 83-81

Extraliga round 13 caused change at the leadership position. Third defeat of league's leader Inter Bratislava (9-3) against third ranked Rieker KN (7-4) 83-81 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Inter Bratislava. Inter Bratislava trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 27-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 81-83 at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian guard Juevol Myles (185-89, college: S.Dakota) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 assists. American forward Dallis Joyner (203-90, college: Stony Brook, agency: Blacktop Management) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American guard Derek Williams (185-85, college: SMU, agency: IBS) answered with 21 points and 7 assists and Czech center Ondrej Starosta (215-79) added 22 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Inter Bratislava. Five Rieker KN and four Inter Bratislava players scored in double figures. Inter Bratislava's coach Oleg Meleschenko rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rieker KN maintains third place with 7-4 record having just two points less than leader Nitra, which they share with Prievidza. Defending champion Inter Bratislava dropped to the second position with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Nitra. Inter Bratislava will play next round against strong Prievidza trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Rieker KN will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Iskra Svit on the road.
