Regular Season Round 13: Nova Ves - Iskra Svit 79-88

Very expected game when 9th ranked Nova Ves (1-11) lost at home to fifth ranked Iskra Svit (7-5) 88-79. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-12. But Nova Ves won second period 28-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Wesley Channels (190-88, college: Austin Peay St.) stepped up and scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and his fellow American import center Tyronne McNeal (211-87, college: Lapua) chipped in 24 points and 8 rebounds. McNeal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side Polish forward Kacper Sek (200-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard N'Gai Evans (188-88, college: Wright St.) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Five Iskra Svit and four Nova Ves players scored in double figures. Iskra Svit maintains fifth place with 7-5 record. Nova Ves at the other side stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Iskra Svit will play against higher ranked Rieker KN (#3) in Komarno in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nova Ves will have a break next round.
