There was a surprise result in Hangzhou where fourteenth ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (2-3) edged higher ranked TianJin Steel (2-3) 118-115 on Wednesday. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions made 36-of-40 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. TianJin Steel was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St., agency: Three Eye Sports) who scored 42 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Henan Sun (195-90) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Nan Zhang (197-81) produced 32 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Shelden Williams (206-83, college: Duke) added 27 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Bayi R. and TianJin S. TianJin Steel lost their third game in a row. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will face league's leader Beijing Ducks at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
