Regular Season Round 8: Atl.Echague - Sport Club 101-88

Round 8 in TNA means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Parana where host Atl.Echague (4-2) beat league's leader Sport Club (4-3) 101-88 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sport Club. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Atl.Echague. Sport Club managed to win fourth quarter 29-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Atl.Echague looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Victor Hugo Cajal (179-80) who scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Naturalized Italian center Omar Canton (210-82) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Five Atl.Echague players scored in double figures. Atl.Echague's coach Sebastian Uranga used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Terry Martin Jr. (199-89, college: Wofford) produced 27 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 13-for-13 from the free throw line !!!) and power forward Roberto Lopez (199-76) added 24 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Atl.Echague have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with San Isidro and Barrio Parque. Sport Club at the other side dropped to the second place with three games lost. They share the position with Ciclista and Banda Norte. They were replaced at the leadership position by Obera TC. Sport Club will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Atl.Echague will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Union SF in Santa Fe.
