Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lleida Basquet won fourth quarter 25-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Burgos forced 20 Lleida Basquet turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Dominican forward Antonio Pena (204-86, college: Villanova) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and American-Cape Verdean point guard Jeffrey Xavier (187-85, college: Providence) who added 12 points and 4 steals during the contest. point guard Sergio Llorente (188-90) responded with 22 points and 5 assists and guard Alex Llorca (192-89) scored 8 points and 8 assists. Lleida Basquet's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Burgos moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Penas Huesca and Oviedo. Lleida Basquet lost third consecutive game. Loser Lleida Basquet keeps the eleventh position with six games lost. Burgos will face Clinicas Rincon (#10) in Malaga in the next round where they are favorite. Lleida Basquet will play at home against Ourense and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
