Regular Season Round 7: Njardvik - Haukar 105-83

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Njardvik and 5th ranked Haukar had identical 4-2 record. This time Njardvik used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Hafnarfjordur 105-83. The game without a history. Njardvik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international Logi Gunnarsson (190-81) who led the winners and scored 41 points (!!!). International point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94) accounted for 24 points, 11 assists and 4 steals (made all of his eight free throws) for the winning side. American forward Terrence Watson (200-87, college: Ball St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Haukur Oskarsson (194-91) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Haukar in the defeat. Njardvik (5-2) moved-up to third place, which they share with Grindavik. Newly promoted Haukar keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Njardvik's next round opponent will be Grindavik (#3) on the road, which may be the game of the day. Haukar will play against the league's second-placed Keflavik and hope to win that game.
