There was a change at the LEB Gold leadership position after last games. Round 8 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Leche Rio Breogan (6-2). They were edged by twelfth ranked Cocinas.com (3-5) 82-81 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Leche Rio Breogan. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Mikel Uriz (182-89) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 8 assists and American guard Alex Hall (187-90, college: Drury) who added 22 points during the contest. Cocinas.com's coach Jesus Sala used entire bench in such tough game. Senegalese center Michel Diouf (208-89) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Dutch power forward Roeland Schaftenaar (211-88, college: Oregon St.) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Leche Rio Breogan players scored in double figures. Cocinas.com moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Melilla and Clinicas Rincon. Leche Rio Breogan at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with Palencia and Coruna. They were replaced at the leadership position by Andorra. Leche Rio Breogan will play next round against Planasa NV trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Cocinas.com will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Melilla Baloncesto on the road.
