There was a surprise result when seventeenth ranked Lille Metropole (4-10) edged at home higher ranked Fos Ouest (8-6) 75-73 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-73. Cape Verdean-Portuguese forward Ivan Almeida (197-89, college: Stonehill) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee, agency: Allegiant Athletic Agency) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. point guard Edouard Choquet (188-88) responded with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Moroccan-Canadian Mohamed Hachad (194-83, college: Northwestern) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fos Ouest's coach Remi Giutta let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Lille Metropole moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Rouen and Orchy. Fos Ouest lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Lille Metropole will face Orchesien BC (#17) in Orchies in the next round. Fos Ouest will play at home against ALM Evreux (#7) and hope to win that game.
