Date: November 22, 2013
Very predictable result when fifth ranked Shanghai Sharks (4-1) beat on the road bottom-ranked Qingdao Eagles (0-5) 108-104 on Friday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Qingdao Eagles won third quarter 30-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) who scored 29 points and 5 assists. International point guard Wei Liu (190-80) chipped in 21 points and 5 assists. Shanghai Sharks' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American-Puerto Rican center Peter Ramos (222-85) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and Palestinian center Sani Sakakini (204-88) added 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Qingdao Eagles players scored in double figures. Shanghai Sharks moved-up to third place, which they share with Zhejiang CB. Qingdao Eagles lost their fifth game in a row. They still closes the standings with five games lost. Shanghai Sharks will face Jiangsu Dragons (#14) in Nanjing in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
